Election Timeline 2017

This is the official Election timeline for 2017.

June 19

  • Candidacy deadline at 11:59pm UTC. Candidates are required to become members of the OTW by this time as well.
  • Deadline for candidate Bio and Platforms to be given to the Elections Committee is at 11:59pm UTC. If statements are translated, late statements will be translated last.

June 21

  • Candidates are publicly announced, with Bios and Platforms published
  • Q&A questions can be submitted as soon as the post goes live.

June 28

  • Deadline to submit questions for the Q&A process. Questions must be submitted by 11:59pm UTC.

June 30

  • Deadline to become a member in order to vote in the upcoming election.
  • Anyone who becomes a member between August 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017, inclusive of both dates UTC, will be eligible to vote in this election.

July 4-20

  • Q&A answers posted.

July 28

  • Deadline to contact the Elections Committee with a proxy request, if you will be away from email for the entire elections period.

Wednesday, July 26, at 7 p.m. UTC

  • Chat with all the candidates. These are open to the public and will take place in a public chatroom. Transcripts will be posted to this site after each chat.

Weds, Saturday, July 29, at 1 a.m. UTC

  • Chat with three candidates. It will be open to the public and will take place in a public chatroom. Transcripts will be posted to this site after each chat.

Sunday, July 30, at 4 p.m. UTC

  • Chat with three candidates. It will be open to the public and will take place in a public chatroom. Transcripts will be posted to this site after each chat.

August 11 – August 14

  • Election is held from 12:01am UTC on Friday to 11:59pm UTC on Monday.

August 15

  • Election results are announced.

August 21

  • Deadline for recount request.

October 1

  • Board turnover begins.
