The Elections Committee would like to thank all of our candidates for their hard work in this year’s election. With that, we are pleased to present the results of the 2015 Election.
Atiya Hakeem and Matty Bowers (in alphabetical order) have been officially elected to the Board of Directors. The new members of the Board will formally begin their term overlap on December 1. We wish them well with their terms.
With that, the election season comes to a close. Thank you to everyone who got involved by spreading the word, asking the candidates questions, and, of course, voting! We look forward to seeing all of you again next year.
Congratulations Atiya and Matty! And thanks to everyone for running and giving the members the chance to vote. We appreciate it.
Congratulations to both Atiya and Matty, and all the best for a successful term on the board.
Also many thanks to the other candidates who stood for the board because you care about the future of the OTW and as a result allowed us to have a contested election.
Thanks for the prompt update. I would love a write-up on the election: how many new members joined since election publicity started (August 30 2015), percentage of members who voted, how it all compares to previous elections, and so on. The main OTW news page hasn’t had anything on the election for over twenty days, so a summary there would be great.
I have also been wondering about voter participation levels, and would also be interested in a write up.
Seconding this request! I’d love to know how many people voted and what proportion of the vote was allocated to each candidate. Also — how many more people voted this time than last contested election? Is it in proportion to our growing membership? How did the administrative side of the election go?
Great job @ elections committee!
I’ve seen a transcript of a chat in which the otw board appointed someone to the board who was not ranked third in the election two weeks ago. What the election rankings were is now badly needed. I am deeply disturbed and I’m sure I’m not alone in wanting more information.
